ERAS tutors volunteer 2 hours per week at their local elementary school to help a child build literacy skills. All training and lessons are provided for you and a high school diploma is required.

Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh volunteer opportunity — Reading Buddies. Reading Buddies is a CLP program that places caring adults in the library’s Children’s department. Reading Buddies serve to foster positive interactions with children beyond reading books.
Volunteers can fulfil a wide variety of tasks at the Lab, mainly focused on two different areas: Laboratory and Education. You may volunteer in both areas, or you may volunteer in one area. As an intern, you will play an active role in the support of our various programs, present research to the Executive Director, and help with daily office tasks.
The [Japan in the Schools]() program is a unique program that brings Japanese education into classrooms in Western PA. Education Outreach Coordinator Katsuko Shellhammer guides the visits with teams of volunteers, so you can participate even if you're new to Japanese culture or if English is your second language.
