Reach & Rise Volunteer Mentors

The Butler County Family YMCA is proud to be one of nine YMCAs in the country that offer the Reach & Rise® group youth mentoring program. Reach & Rise® provides kids with a safe and comfortable space to make new friends, learn new things, talk about what’s on their minds, and receive encouragement from supportive adults to achieve their goals. This program helps to REACH more youth so they can RISE to a better future.

Reach & Rise® wouldn't exist without the passion of adult volunteers who are committed to helping the next generation rise to their fullest potential. Make an impact on youth in Butler County by becoming a mentor today!

*Volunteer Mentors must:

Be at least 21 years old Obtain background clearances Complete a 15 hour training Spend 2 hours a week co-facilitating a mentoring group Check in weekly with the Clinical Director

Volunteers assist staff with classroom activities, reading to children, arts and crafts, outdoor play, special events, meal preparation, and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment.

Action Team Member

Position Overview Humane Action Pennsylvania (HAP) organizes actions for members to take, including, but not limited to, writing letters and making calls to representatives. This position supports this process by agreeing to contact the legislators for whom they are a constituent in support or opposition of various bills as directed by HAP leadership.

Position Overview The #1 goal of Humane Action Pittsburgh (HAP) is to educate the public on how to prevent and relieve animal suffering by taking meaningful action. The HAP Graphic Designer will assist us in this pursuit by creating documents for education pieces, social media, the website, flyers, invitations, etc.
