Macedonia FACE Meals on Wheels Program is looking for support with meal deliveries to older adults within the Greater Pittsburgh area.
Volunteers can support deliveries by partnering with an existing driver or they can have the option of making deliveries in their own vehicle.

If you have been to Sewickley in the fall, you know that one of the highlights of the season is the Sewickley UMC Pumpkin Patch. It is a beautiful display of autumn pumpkins, cornstalks and haybales. We need volunteers to help us unload the pumpkins from the truck and display them around our church lawn.

Volunteers, (must be age 18 years or older), are led in a small group to provide lunches and conversation to those who are homeless and marginally housed. This is done by walking a regular route around Oakland in order to meet people where they are. Number of people served varies due to outreach nature of event.

Feel good by helping prepare salads, sandwiches, packing bags etc. for the elderly and disabled people in our area. It's not hard work, just requires a little of your time. The small amount of time that you give will greatly help others who are possibly alone with nobody in their lives to help.
Currently need help on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
Our meals on wheels program is currently using a MS Access Database that is hosted online and our problem is that is has become very expensive (over $2000/yr) and our small program cannot afford this much longer. The issue is that the database code was written by a large meals on wheels and modified for our use.

We are in need of volunteers to help with our monthly food pantry, which we call our Walk-In Ministry. Volunteers are needed to bag groceries, prepare and serve a simple lunch and greet clients.
The food pantry is open every fourth week:
Monday-Thursday, 11:00 am - 1 pm. (Volunteers are needed beginning at 10:30 am; Kitchen help at 10:00 am).
LU and our fantastic weekly volunteers run a weekly Friday food distribution that delivers free boxes of food to over 30 households all around Pittsburgh! We are always looking for additional driver volunteer support. You would be helping deliver about 4-5 boxes to food-insecure neighbors who don't have a vehicle.

Every day of the year, generous volunteers from churches and other organizations throughout the Pittsburgh area prepare, deliver, and serve meals for the shelter residents.
Just Harvest engages Pittsburgh-area volunteers across five program areas: VITA-certified Free Tax Preparation (preparers and greeters), Fresh Access farmers-market support at 15+ markets, community outreach, grassroots organizing (petitioning, phone banking, voter registration), and signature events such as Empty Bowls, D Jam, and Just Art.
