Join CERCA for our inaugural Resilience and Adaptation Day on November 6th, as we shape priorities for CMU Miami’s grand challenge in Energy and Climate Resilience. Led by David Rounce and Costa Samaras, this workshop will explore how CMU’s cross-disciplinary strengths can address urgent priorities across South Florida and beyond. In addition to technical sessions, part of the day will be dedicated to collaborative brainstorming, giving our community an opportunity to shape the research and educational framework of CMU Miami. Program Highlights: Geoscience & Physical Climate Impacts: A panel examining physical weather drivers, extreme storms, sea-level rise, and ecosystem impacts Built Infrastructure & Decision Systems: Discussions on managing predictive uncertainty, electric grid operational planning, and human-AI digital twins to support adaptive community operations Student STEM Slam Competition: Fast-paced pitches showcasing student concepts for climate adaptation and resilience solutions CMU Miami Strategy: Dedicated time to craft recommendations for CMU Miami’s academic curriculum goals and interdisciplinary research framework This event is for CMU affiliates only.
