Distinguished Alumni Talk: Anna Quider

Dr. Anna M. Quider is Founder and CEO of The Quider Group, a federal research strategy and advocacy firm dedicated to strengthening institutional competitiveness in the federal policy and funding arena. An award-winning national leader in higher education and science policy, she is widely recognized for advancing opportunities for emerging research institutions and shaping the national conversation around equitable access to federal research investments. She advises universities on aligning research strengths with federal priorities, navigating agency dynamics, advancing favorable policies, and strengthening grantsmanship strategies. Dr. Quider brings a unique perspective shaped by experience across the full federal ecosystem, including roles in Congress, the U.S. Department of State, and university leadership. She holds a Ph.D. in Astronomy from the University of Cambridge, where she was a Marshall Scholar and National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow, as well as a B.S. in Physics and Astronomy and a B.A. in Religious Studies and the History and Philosophy of Science from the University of Pittsburgh. She is a Fellow of the American Physical Society and a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
