Live performances transform the stage into a dreamlike audiovisual environment where polyrhythms collide with real-time generative video, weaving data and machine learning processes into a visceral tapestry of sound and light. By bridging far-reaching rhythmic traditions, cutting-edge electronics, and critical explorations of AI’s creative potential, How to See Know and Fall offers audiences a revelatory experience at the cross-hairs of music, technology, and digital art. BRIAN SHANKAR ADLER is a widely recognized percussionist and composer who blurs genre lines to create deeply expressive rhythmic landscapes. He has performed in settings ranging from glacial ice fields to Lincoln Center, showcasing his innovative approach to percussion around the globe. With commissions from chamber ensembles and collaborations in opera, dance, and beyond, Adler pursues a vision that intertwines technical precision with human connection. JESSE STILES, formerly Associate Professor of Sound Media at the CMU School of Music, is an electronic composer, performer, and software designer whose immersive sonic environments have been presented at Carnegie Hall, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and beyond. As the Music Supervisor for the Merce Cunningham Dance Company, he produced and performed in hundreds of concerts featuring the works of leading avant-garde composers. Currently an Associate Professor at the Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design, Stiles continues to push the boundaries of interactive media and sound design.
