The Renaissance of Helen Clay Frick and Nicholas Lochoff (HAA Colloquium)
Ends:
Frick Fine Arts Building
TBD
Sean Kramer will provide an overview of a student-led reinterpretation of the Nicholas Lochoff Cloister in the Frick Fine Arts Building, begun last spring and continuing this fall through the Curatorial Development and Exhibition Presentation seminars. The project aims to surface stories, complicate inherited mythologies, and prompt visitors and users alike to reflect on heady topics such as originality, genius, and institutional histories. Sean will explain the process of “prototyping” on which the students are about to embark. Colloquium attendees will be asked to share their own questions and reflections as key stakeholders.
About the Speaker: Sean Kramer is a Teaching Assistant Professor in the Department of History of Art & Architecture. Read his faculty profile.
