Ruby - Mountain Soul Music: Ruby at BBQ & Chili Cook-off Blues Fest

Begins 12pm to 8pm. Cold beverages available and live bands performing the best of blues! Judging cards limited to 100 will be sold for $5. Commercial vendors will provide your favorite summertime foods. A day of food, blues, and a great time with friends! Ruby will be performing during the band changeovers, so expect several mini sets of Mountain Soul Blues throughout the event! Ruby was born and raised in Morgantown, West Virginia. At age 3, she began classical training on the violin which continued into college at West Virginia University. In her adult years, she branched out from classical violin, and began a lifelong adventure as a musical performer in multiple bands spanning from rock-n-roll to honky-tonk. In the studio, she’s recorded on cello, mandolin, banjo, bass, and piano, but typically performs live with violin, guitar, viola, and ukulele. As a soloist, Ruby draws upon a lifetime of experience as a songwriter, recording artist, and live performer, creating a unique collaboration of musical styles including elements of her Appalachian roots, classical training, rock, blues, country, and old-time music to forge her own original genre of classic Americana she’s coined “Mountain Soul Music.” Ruby’s musical techniques and smooth, soulful vocals leave audiences everywhere mesmerized.
