Peaceful Watercolor Practice w/ Dean Simpson
No Experience/Beginner TBD Materials and Studio Fees* Discover a calming, nature-inspired approach to watercolor. We’ll begin with simple warm-ups and sketchbook exploration to observe how water, pigment, and paper interact. Techniques will encourage you to release control, follow the flow, and welcome moments of unpredictability. You’ll build confidence by embracing experimentation and gentle imperfection, allowing watercolor to become a quiet, meditative practice. Assisted by artist and educator Leah Shuck, who will lead participants in mindful movement using breathwork and gentle stretching, either standing or in a chair. These exercises offer a way to ground the body and mind in the present moment before artmaking together. Act 48 credit is available for Pennsylvania educators. *Materials and studio fees are charged to students based on studio usage and materials Touchstone is providing at the request of the instructor. Additionally, some instructors may also require that you bring certain materials and tools with you, in which case a list will be provided. Final cost of these fees will be posted at least two weeks ahead of the workshop to be paid in full prior to check-in.
