Saturday, September 26th: we welcome back three guitar GIANTS of our age! Glenn Jones and Liam Grant, on tour from Massachusetts, and our own Damon Buxton for local support! Glenn Jones has carved out a long and beloved career as a champion of American Primitive and Guitar Soli. From his early days in the forward thinking Cul De Sac, to his friendship with John Fahey, to his consistently wonderful solo catalog, Glenn has been there, done it, and we're all the better for it! Lately he's been going on marathon tours with our buddy Liam Grant, who at a young age has become a senior ambassador for solo guitar. The sounds he conjures will shake you to your core! Damon Buxton lives near to Pittsburgh, and brings an elegant, nylon string element to the proceedings. He is a composer as well as a performer, and crafts intimate instrumentals that sooth you as they hold your attention. Damon Buxton is a fingerstyle guitarist and composer. His primary instrument is the six-string classical guitar. Drawing on traditions of classical, flamenco, and jazz, his music is powerful, romantic, and ethereal, with melodies that are comforting and very relaxing. He delivers a masterful and engaging guitar performance with positive humor.
