Butler County’s psychic sisters can speak to the dead and sell you a log cabin

TBD
Sisters Suzanne and Jean Vincent describe messages from departed relatives, cold case clues, and the occasional whiff of a spirit’s favorite perfume. The dead, according to Suzanne, sometimes wear Chanel. They might also announce themselves through the taste of black licorice or lemon drops, a name whispered in her mind, or a scene resembling an old black-and-white movie. Jean might receive another detail, which the women interpret together. Death, they say, does surprisingly little to extinguish a personality. “Sometimes I see vivid, movie-like flashes of a location, an object, or a face,” Suzanne says. “Other times, I will hear a specific name, a date, or a phrase whispered in my mind.” Their mediumship began with a family tradition that has outlasted the relatives who taught it to them. Known professionally as the Psychic Vincent Sisters , the Butler County women offer private readings, appear at wineries and historic properties, and volunteer their time with families seeking missing relatives or answers about unsolved deaths. Television programs, including Dateline and Psychic Investigators , have featured their involvement in cases. They also sell log homes as sales consultants for Cedar Direct Log Homes in Sewickley, and hold cosmetology licenses. Jean also has an education degree and has worked as a substitute teacher. “It takes a lot of discipline and a very understanding schedule,” Suzanne says of balancing jobs, children, readings, and case work. But ask how they got started, and the sisters go back to their female relatives. Their mother read tea leaves for neighbors, Catholic school taught them to pray to saints, and their grandmother, they say, continued checking in after her death. Grandma left instructions Suzanne and Jean spent childhood years near Chicago and in Florida before moving to Pennsylvania in 1979. Their mother, Margaret Mary, taught metaphysical practices and read tea leaves for neighbors.
