NP - Tickborne Disease and Ticks of PA

The discussion will focus on Tickborne diseases, including the prevention of and personal protection measures for tick bites / tickborne diseases. A basic introduction to tick biology will be given as well, with information on local infection rates and tick surveillance efforts across Allegheny County and the state of Pennsylvania. Handout materials will also be available. This program is a sit-down presentation in the Latodami Nature Center Barn's open-air auditorium. Dress well for outdoor weather. There is no running water at the Latodami Nature Center Barn. The restroom facility is an accessible portable toilet. The barn has a gravel driveway with a step into the barn entrance.
