Imbolc / St. Brigid’s Day

Imbolc is a pagan sabbat that honors a spirit of renewal and new beginnings. It is also honored by some Christians in the British Isles, who know the day as St. Brigid’s Day. There are various ways of observing the day, including lighting of candles or bonfires, visiting a well, gathering with family or friends, and/or making a St. Brigid’s cross out of fresh green reeds.
