Join us as we celebrate and discuss Paul Michiels’ coauthored book (with Karyn Kessler and Paul Rogers), Crafting Ethical Scholarship: A Practical Guide to Academic Integrity and the Mission of Higher Education (University of California Press, 2026). The book focuses upon expertise in source-based writing so that, as Paul asks, “how we can start to shift our orientation toward academic integrity from identifying misconduct to building the conditions in which students can experience what it’s like to think about their ethical obligations to themselves and the sources they bring into their writing.” The book provides a research-based heuristic, a relational ethic of care, for teaching writing across disciplines and within first-year writing. Please RSVP by 12pm on 9/21.
