Women's Graphic Narratives of the Holocaust, 1944-1949
Decades before Art Spiegelman's Maus, Holocaust survivors created graphic narratives of what they endured under Nazi persecution. This talk introduces eight works made by young Jewis women from 1944-1949. Working across different countries with different levels of artistic training and audiences in mind, they all turned to visual storytelling to represent their own histories of suffering,
Hosted with The Jack Buncher Endowed in Jewish Studies @ Carnegie Mellon University
