Reading: Begins at 7:00 PM Opener: Layle Chambers Reader: John Hoppenthaler John Hoppenthaler is the author of four books of poetry: Night Wing over Metropolitan Area (2023), Domestic Garden (2015), Anticipate the Coming Reservoir (2008), and Lives of Water (2003). His work has appeared in numerous journals, anthologies, and textbooks. He is a professor of Creative Writing and Literature at East Carolina University, Greenville, NC. Layle Keane Chambers is an author and poet whose work examines the intersection of landscape and lived reality, particularly of military families. She is the 2026 Elizabeth Boatwright Coker Fellow in Poetry, a finalist for the 2026 Colonel Darron L. Wright Memorial Writing Awards, and the VP of the Poetry Society of South Carolina. Holding Professor Emerita and an MFA in Poetry from New Mexico State University, her writing has appeared in Collateral, The Wrath-Bearing Tree, Line of Advance, and Proud To Be: Writing by American Warriors. Her debut chapbook Caught in the Light (Finishing Line Press) published in 2026, with the forthcoming BINGO ONE scheduled for July 2027. She is a proud Air Force mom.
