They have been used in clinical practice sporadically for more than a century, but widespread development has stalled until recently. In her talk, Van Tyne will discuss the history of phage therapy, the current state of the field and how the Pittsburgh Phage Program is developing precision phage-based medicines for patients with difficult-to-treat infections.
