Data Sculpture a solo exhibition of computational art by Digital Pioneer Paul Higham
Opening Reception Sat Sept 12th 6pm til 9pm. Gallery Hours Sat and Sun 1pm - 5pm. The exhibition runs through til Sun Oct 18th.Eberle Gallery is pleased to present DATA SCULTPURE, New Works by Paul Higham. As an early pioneer of digital sculpture and computational art Higham revisits concepts of encryption, retrieval and corruption through data visualization. Creating and manifesting sculptures from data and pure code. In one of the featured new works titled ‘Nike’, he synthesizes scans of Nike and the Winged Victory of Samothrace with coding to produce emergent outcomes. The 3D printed form references remote data acquisition and agency in both ancient and modern indices. For example, Nike was sent from the hand of Athena, flown in service as an agent from the celestial to the mortal realm; a precursor to surveillance at a distance and drone technology of today.
