Get to Know the Environmental & Sustainability Studies Program

The Environmental and Sustainability Studies (ESS) program takes an interdisciplinary approach to studying environment and sustainability. The additional major and minor build upon existing schools and institutes across Carnegie Mellon University. We are excited to announce a new 3 unit course, 66-237: Interdisciplinary Dialogues for Environmental & Sustainability Studies! The goal of this course is to encourage practices of listening, and learning to ask questions, about diverse areas of disciplinary research addressing environmental and sustainability problems. Four CMU experts from Arts, Architecture, Design, Humanities, Science, Engineering, Business, Economics, and/or Policy will share their work and their insights. This course is open to any undergraduate student, though some seats will be reserved for students in the ESS program.
