Joe Manganiello’s dog Bubbles now has her own latte

Local café chain Mediterra’s newest collaborator has four legs, a tail, and 26,000 Instagram followers. Bubbles Manganiello , the 13-year-old Chihuahua-Pomeranian mix owned by actor and native Pittsburgher Joe Manganiello and his fiancée Caitlin O’Connor, has her very own latte. The new drink, made with espresso, milk, and hot honey, is an ode to Bubbles’ sweet but spicy personality. “She can be a very feisty, protective Chihuahua,” O’Connor tells Pittsburgh City Paper. “Joe and I live nearby, and we love Mediterra. Credit: Courtesy of Mediterra Cafe Manganiello spoke to Mediterra Director of Operations Nicole Ambeliotis McLean about a possible drink in honor of Bubbles, who often visits the Mt. Lebanon location with the couple. “Our head barista, Lilly, always commented on Bubbles and would greet her before she even realized she was Joe’s dog,” McLean says. “Since the majority of our staff and customers are dog lovers, it has been wonderful to have this collaboration.” Manganiello first thought something spicy like a Mexican hot chocolate would be good, and Mediterra ended up creating the hot honey latte instead. The concoction, which can be ordered hot or iced, ended up being a hit. Pro tip: O’Connor says Manganiello’s favorite way to order the drink is iced with vanilla cold foam on top. O’Connor, who manages Bubbles’ Instagram account, says that despite her sassiness, the pint-sized dog warmed up to her right away. “Joe was driving me home from my TV show premiere party, and I asked, ‘what if you put Bubbles on my lap?’” O’Connor says. “Joe’s first thought was that she was going to bite me and our flirtation would be over right away, but as soon as she sat on my lap, she fell asleep.” Bubbles plays barista at Mediterra Mt.
