The University of Pittsburgh Physical Activity Research Center (PARC) invites you to the annual PARC Seminar. This year's seminar welcomes Dr. Amanda Paluch for her talk, "How Many Steps Are Enough? Evidence-Based Targets for Health and Longevity" Paluch is an associate professor in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her research includes developing wearable sensor technologies to monitor movement and health. As a physical activity epidemiologist, she studies the associations of physical activity and chronic disease with an emphasis on advancing the science on daily steps as a public health metric. Paluch's long- term goal is to reduce the burden of chronic disease and promote healthy aging through technology-assisted physical activity interventions that can be disseminated through clinicians and population-level efforts. Paluch’s works were published in leading medical journals including her first-authors papers on daily steps with cardiovascular disease and all-cause mortality in Circulation and Lancet Public Health.
