EPP Seminar: Sarah Cen — Bridging the Gap between AI Research and AI Policy

In the first half, we’ll discuss ongoing issues in AI policy, ranging from copyright to transparency. In the second half, we’ll delve into research around the AI supply chain: the network of AI organizations, products, and services that contribute to the development and deployment of AI. For instance, the AI supply chain contains many layers, including the model supply chain and data supply chain. The rising complexity of the AI supply chain introduces opportunities for miscommunication and inherited security vulnerabilities, as well as fragmented liability and even circular financing. We’ll discuss various aspects of this in research and the possible translation to policy.
