Animal Scream

Soul/Disco/80s Jamz: DJ Jenna Brooke spinning Vinyl Records. Oh yeah, it's a Masquerade dance party, costumes are encouraged. Come dance yourself clean! Animal Scream is the Pittsburgh Doom Pop Project of songwriter/producer Chad Monticue, accompanied by Caleb Pogyor, Eli Weidman & Bobby Taylor exploring psych-pop psychedelia that’s dark, sweet & cinematic, a noir-tinted sound in thrall to the eternal groove. Midnight Summer, the new full-length from Pittsburgh, PA fuzzed-out doom-pop project Animal Scream, offers a compelling collection of Gothed-out beach bops, dream-soaked trembling guitars, and hip-shaking dark boogies. It is moody lo-fi night-driving music dissolved into an unnerving beautiful unknown. Dark lyricism wrapped in sunny melodies winds itself through shimmering walls of guitar. Thunderous rhythm is lightened by handclaps, snaps, and (distorted) tambourine. The record is a study in marrying disparate elements, as songwriter and producer Chad Monticue weaves contrasting threads of the modern canon into a darkly luminous whole. Studio Releases: Nightwalk (2020), Heartbroke Motel (2023), Otherworldly Pictures (2025), Midnight Summer (2026)
