LCAL Lecture Series: Stephen Brockmann on Anna Seghers

Anna Seghers helped found the Federation of Proletarian-Revolutionary Writers in the 1920s, became a key anti-Nazi writer during the Hitler dictatorship and a founding mother of East German literature after the war. A leading literary-cultural functionary in the German Democratic Republic, she was also the most important German socialist realist author of the twentieth century.
