Turns out rapper GloRilla is a lifelong Steelers fan with plans for a football anthem

TBD
Rapper Gloria Hallelujah Woods, better known as GloRilla, doesn’t know how she became a Steelers fan, but knows she’s been one since age 3. “My dad said my grandma was a Steelers fan, but I never met my grandma because she passed away before I was born,” GloRilla tells Pittsburgh City Paper. In 2023, she sat down with then-Steeler George Pickens for an episode of NFL City Life , where the two dined on Carmi Soul Food (while their brick-and-mortar store is closed, they are still open for catering and events). “I had some fried fish there, and they cooked it up real good,” she says. She’s also been spotted at Acrisure Stadium (which, like the rest of us, she still calls Heinz Field) for multiple games. “I always wanted to go there when I used to play it on Madden,” she says. Despite her strong Steelers fandom and many stops in Pittsburgh, Glo, as she is often called, is performing for the first time in the city at Citizens Live at The Wylie on Nov. 2. “I’m super happy because normally I’m just going out there for the game,” she says. She plans to catch the Steelers the day before she performs at the Nov. 1 home game versus the Cleveland Browns. Glo has been toying with releasing a Steelers anthem much like Wiz Khalifa ’s “Black and Yellow.” “I keep saying I’m going to do it, but I am,” she says. “I need to shout out the Steelers.” Football anthems aside, the Memphis native has managed to do something musically few artists have been able to accomplish — bridge the gap between rap and gospel music. When Billboard asked her to describe her sound, she called it “crunk and dominant.” She tells the City Paper that her Memphis roots gave her “the authenticity that I got.” Since then, she’s managed to have two number one hits on Billb
