Celebrate the seasons through hands-on making, printing, and creative play! Drop by our spaces and explore a different art-making activity inspired by fall, winter, and spring. Fall: LEGO Pumpkin Prints C4C: The Understory (Cathedral of Learning basement, B-50) | 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Select or build a pumpkin shape with LEGO, then use it to make one (or more) prints for our pumpkin patch. Pick your favorite and “carve” your own jack-o’-lantern with markers: no messy pulp or nicked fingers! Winter: Crow Party C4C: The Workshop (University Store on Fifth) | 1-3 p.m. Crows are a familiar sight in winter, and they have a reputation for collecting all sorts of tiny treasures. Dig through an assortment of beads, buttons, charms, scraps, shiny bits, and other curiosities to create your own miniature trinkets to keep, trade, or give away. Spring: Gelli Garden Text & conText Lab (310 Hillman) | 3-5 p.m. Play around with Gelli plate monoprinting using flowers, butterflies, colors, textures, and cutout shapes. Make a few prints and take your favorites home, or add them to a community collage, a wild spring garden made one flower, leaf, and butterfly at a time. Come for five minutes or stay awhile. Make something. Trade something. Keep what you like and add something to the pile for others.
