Erik Vincent Huey live at Poetry Lounge
A fourth-generation coal miner’s son from West Virginia, Huey’s new album, 'Fort Defiance,' debuted on the Top 50 Americana chart and was produced by Eric “Roscoe” Ambel. It features guest vocals by Tommy Stinson of The Replacements and Sarah Borges, with musical backing (on the record and on the road) by the power pop combo Starbelly.
His debut solo LP 'Appalachian Gothic' was hailed as “riveting stuff, a major work” by Americana Songwriter, and “the Appalachian Tommy” by Americana UK.
Also known as Cletus McCoy of The Surreal McCoys, celebrated for their unique mash up “Whole Lotta Folsom,” Huey delivers performances that bridge roots rock, country, and punk with equal parts roadhouse swagger and Rust Belt soul.
The legendary Joe Grushecky will open the show at Poetry Lounge, Starbelly will be backing Erik Vincent Huey, and Russell Jack will close out an incredible night.
