In his late teens his musical focus turned from rock 'n roll to folk rock with idols such as Crosby, Stills, and Nash, James Taylor, Jim Croce, and especially Harry Chapin. Lou's early musical successes led to a great gig as the resident singer-guitarist at The Holiday House nightclub just outside of Pittsburgh, PA, at that time the largest nightclub in the country next to the Copacabana in New York City. This allowed him to not only work with, but also learn the business from some of the top national stage acts at the time, including such notables as Ben Vereen, Charo, David Brenner, and Connie Stevens, and yes, even Harry Chapin.. His musical career has spanned several years performing in bars, restaurants, supper clubs, and colleges, honing his craft, and delighting audiences. His stage presence is engaging and well-polished. Over the past several years, Lou has performed his solo acoustic act Classic Acoustic throughout New England covering more than one hundred dates a year across various venues.
