AI-SDM Workshop on Human-AI Complementarity for Decision Making

The interdisciplinary workshop will focus on designing and deploying AI systems that are dynamically aligned with human values, robust to unexpected behaviors, and safe even under failure conditions. Key topics will include the role of AI agents in influencing human decision confidence and calibration, AI’s impact on trust, coordination, and collaboration in decision-making, and addressing undesirable AI behaviors. Participants from diverse fields such as decision science, cognitive science, computer science, and machine learning will engage actively through tutorials, interactive poster sessions, presentations, and collaborative “AIdea” generation to identify pressing research challenges and propose concrete solutions for achieving complementarity in flexible Human-AI teams.
