Gala Porras-Kim's Institutional Insinuations (HAA Colloquium)

In her 2025 exhibition The reflection at the threshold of a categorical division at Carnegie Museum of Art, Los Angeles-based artist Gala Porras-Kim offered a rigorous analysis of the collecting mandates of the Carnegie Museums and Library in the form of several diptychs of her characteristic index drawings. This presentation of work-in-progress will illuminate the conceptual and institutional origins of Porras-Kim's index drawing format.
