Quilt Documentation
Do you own quilts that have passed through the family, been purchased, or otherwise acquired, and would love to know more about them? These works of fabric art help document the life and legacy of Western Pennsylvania history (and beyond). Jill Mezaros, a Quilt Documentarian through the American Quilter’s Society will be leading a documentation day where individuals bring their quilt to be documented and entered into the Library’s Digital Community Collection. This event is open to the public to browse old quilts, meet local quilters, and connect with area quilting guilds.Registration is required if you plan on bringing a quilt to be documented. A staff member will be reaching out closer to the event with your assigned appointment timeslot. If you’d like to have your quilt uploaded to AQS Quilt Index for a small fee, please indicate when registering for an appointment.
