Chasen Wayne WSG Dave Shepherd
Chasen Wayne w/ special guest Dave Shepherd at Club Cafe.
Chasen Wayne Mitchell was born on a team roping ranch in Kennedale, Texas and raised in a world fueled by rodeo, drag racing, and blue-collar grit. After his family relocated to Granbury, Texas in hopes of a safer life, he found refuge in music when it seemed that trouble wasn’t something he could easily escape.
He set his sights on Austin for a fresh start At 17 years old - making his way by working nights as a bouncer on 6th street and days digging tunnels for a plumbing crew. His journey hasn’t been clean or easy—marked by addiction, close calls, and a long road of hard-earned experience that’s deeply embedded in his songwriting while incorporating Psych, Jazz, Rock and country all into one piece of art that is always chasing down his own unique sound.
Pittsburgh PA's Dave Shepherd is a Rust Belt Appalachian Alt Country rock star pioneering his own sound in the Alt-Country scene. A killer bluegrass guitar picker and lonesome country singer, Dave brings his love of the old stuff to his 90's kid heart and creates a sonic soundscape all his own. With a voice like Doc Watson, melodies like Neil Young, and rhythms like Hank Williams- Dave creates a modern yet nostalgic sound he's calling Rust Country.
A PA guy through and through, Dave Shepherd is a country and bluegrass songwriter and musician from the rust belt of southwest Pennsylvania. After a decade living in Philadelphia touring the east coast, mid-atlantic, and southeast with various bluegrass, country, and jazz groups, Dave has resettled back home in the Golden Triangle, the Paris of Appalachia– Pittsburgh PA. You can hear the rust in his songs. Not plain alt-country– Dave has credentials in real deal country and bluegrass scenes– but Rust Country, classic songs with a grungy edge built on the rusty frame of that good old country, bluegrass and western swing. Original music that feels like home and the skills to get a room two-stepping all night l
