Each semester, we recruit a communications intern to help maintain the JASP’s communications and social media. The intern will help create and publish content to be posted on our various social media accounts, website and monthly newsletter.
Each semester, we recruit an Education Outreach intern to assist our Education Outreach Coordinator with the Japan in the Schools program and the High School Japanese Speech Contest. As an intern, you will play an active role in the support of our various programs, present research to the Executive Director, and help with daily office tasks.
The [Japan in the Schools](<https://japansocietypa.org/JIS>) program is a unique program that brings Japanese education into classrooms in Western PA. Education Outreach Coordinator Katsuko Shellhammer guides the visits with teams of volunteers, so you can participate even if you're new to Japanese culture or if English is your second language.
