Civic & Community

Social Media Intern

We're a small nonprofit. We post about things happening in government that actually affect people's lives. Grocery prices, parks, privacy, that kind of thing.

The job is to make posts people would actually stop and share. Instagram, X, LinkedIn, Bluesky.

You'd find strong photos, write short copy, and adapt the same story so it doesn't sound identical on every app. Nothing goes live without approval.

Unpaid. School credit available. Could become paid if it works. Remote. About 8-12 hours a week, 8-12 weeks.

To apply: email 5 posts you'd actually show a friend (yours or someone else's), and 3 sentences on a news story that should have been simpler than it was. No cover letter. Email colum@modernaction.io []: Required
