Board Member, Travelers Aid Society of Pittsburgh

Travelers Aid of Pittsburgh is seeking volunteers interested in serving on its Board of Directors.

We can especially use those with experience in nonprofit development and fundraising, brand marketing, graphic design, tech and organizational change management, and corporate fundraising.

Travelers Aid of Pittsburgh is a non-profit, United Way agency which provides social service programs to individuals in need of transit assistance. The only organization of its kind in Western Pennsylvania, Travelers Aid works with public and private entities to offer a plethora of transportation options for various populations.

Through contracts with the Department of Human Services in Allegheny County and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, as well as partnerships with a number of other departments, foundations and community providers, Travelers Aid assists with travel for 7,500 clients and nearly 3.5 million trips per year. This model is currently being employed in over 101 locations in Allegheny County with a total enrollment of over 40,000 low-income individuals and families.

Board committees include finance, development, programs, and governance. Board Meetings are held six times per year. Virtual attendance is permitted.

Potential members at all levels of nonprofit governance experience are welcome, including first-time board members.

Cancer Bridges supports those impacted by cancer through a variety of free programs and services. We provide a warm and welcoming environment for everyone who has been impacted by cancer. This includes those with a cancer diagnosis, those who have a loved one with cancer, or have experienced the loss of a loved one due to cancer.
