Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania volunteer role — Environmental education. This includes the volunteer naturalist program, as well as a variety of administrative support opportunities and seasonal activities. The volunteer naturalists lead groups of ten or so school children on thematic nature walks. Each fall and spring, we offer volunteer naturalist training, where we give new naturalists all the natural history background and educational activity plans they need to lead our visiting school children on our trails. Our organization seeks to serve the kids of Crafton Heights and surrounding communities. One way to do that is by providing a safe space for completing homework! The "Homework Help" After School Program is open to kids in Kindergarten through 5th grade. We are looking for volunteers to be the "Help" for the students we see!
