Welcome to the University of Pittsburgh!
The Office of the Provost and the University Center for Teaching and Learning (Teaching Center) invites all new full-time and part-time faculty, faculty who are new to Pitt, and faculty transitioning into teaching roles to New Faculty Orientation, a redesigned on-boarding experience that focuses on a high-impact, condensed, in-person event, supported by targeted synchronous sessions.
This University-wide event complements school- and department-level on-boarding by connecting new faculty with the broader Pitt community. The program introduces faculty to teaching and research support resources, institutional partners, and opportunities for cross-campus collaboration. We will help you build early connections across faculty and institutional partners, equip you with essential tools and resources for immediate success, and offers flexible, and provide just-in-time learning through the TEACH@Pitt (Teaching Excellence and Advancement through Certification in Higher Education) program, a synchronous online course designed to improve teaching effectiveness by equipping instructors with evidence-based, learner-centered teaching practices.
Orientation sessions: O’Hara Student Center. 4024 O’Hara St, Pittsburgh, PA 15213Welcome Reception: William Pitt Union Lower Lounge. 3959 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15260
