Pregnancy & Family Program Volunteer

Catholic Charities is seeking volunteers to help support our Pregnancy & Family Program in Washington County. This program provides support for women (and their families) who may be pregnant, currently pregnant, or has a child under the age of two along with helping women who are concerned about unplanned and crisis pregnancies. No formal training or experience needed, just a heart and compassion for working with moms (and families) who need support. Training will be provided by Catholic Charities.

A volunteer will help provide the following services:

  • Providing free, confidential help and emotional support to women concerned about unplanned and crisis pregnancies
  • Offering pregnancy testing and options that are in the best interest of both the mother and child, including information on parenting and adoption choices (We do not provide abortions, nor do we refer any woman for an abortion.
  • Help clients learn about topics such as prenatal care, parenting, relationships, life skills and more through evidence-based curriculum.
  • Supplying parents in need with diapers, formula, clothing, and baby hygiene products

Volunteer Opportunity Location: 331 South Main Street, Washington, PA 15301

Hours: The Washington County Office is open Monday through Thursday, 8am – 4pm. Volunteer hours can be flexible based on volunteers’ availability.

Clearances: Must obtain Act 33 and Act 34 and FBI Fingerprint clearances.

Remote Phone Calls to Hospice Patients

We are looking for someone to make weekly phone calls to our home hospice patients. You will make "tuck-in calls" to make sure that the patients and families have everything they need for the weekend. Phone calls are typically made Wednesdays or Thursdays.
