Volunteer Grant Writer

As a Grant Writer for Yoga Recovery Pittsburgh, you will ensure that the nonprofit organization has opportunities to obtain and utilize grants from local and regional foundations, corporations, and trusts aligned with the nonprofit mission.

  • Grant Writer would be responsible for writing all grant applications as well as understanding related processes, documents, and procedures in a professional, efficient, and timely manner. ** Duties**

  • Conduct research on available funding sources and opportunities in Pittsburgh and Western, PA.

  • Prepare and maintain a database of funding opportunities in Pittsburgh and PA to keep track of available opportunities year round as well as deadlines.

  • Complete all grant applications in a timely manner, to ensure that YRP can secure ongoing funding to run its free and scholarship based programs.

  • Generate new and creative ideas on how to receive funding for Yoga Recovery Pittsburgh’s special events and retreats.

  • Works closely with the Yoga Recovery Pittsburgh board to seek input into funding applications.

  • Skills

  • 1-3 years experience doing grant related work and applications to seek funding for non-profit projects.

  • High organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent communication, respect for current leadership, and desire to be of service.

  • Ability to work and coordinate multiple projects and deadlines as needed.

  • Skilled technical, grammatically sound writing, proof-reading, editing, copywriting, grant writing or equivalent written communication.

Crisis Center North provides free and confidential services to victims of domestic violence. Our hotline is run by trained staff and volunteers 24/7, even on holidays. Our text chat line is run daily 9am - 9pm. We provide hotline volunteers with ample training to prepare them to support and assist survivors seeking information, safety, and empowerment.
