Head for the Cure is a nonprofit brain cancer research foundation. We are hosting our 8th Annual 5K to fund brain cancer research to locally benefit UPMC Hillman Cancer Center and BCA! It is a celebration for the whole family where we welcome walkers and runners alike. There will be local vendors, music, kid's entertainment, snacks, awards to runners, and a program honoring survivors, caregivers and healthcare heroes.
We need volunteers to make this event possible!
Have you served in the military or are you currently serving? Because of your unique perspective, you will be able to comfort and share experiences with veteran patients. You can provide support, camraderie through visits, pinning ceremonies, or military holidays/rememberances. We have found that veteran to veteran visits have been supportive for all.
Be a hero- visit with hospice patients who are also Veterans. We are looking for individuals who are able to visit with patients who served our country. Previous military experiene is not necessary, you just need a desire to honor those who have served our country by helping us collect their life stories, holding a hand or listening, or celebrating them on…
Are you a reiki speciailist/hair stylist/babrber or have another skill skill that could help hospice patients.- we want you! Our patients like to look and feel good, be relaxed and we want to make that come true for them.
