BikePGH offers volunteer opportunities to individuals as well as businesses and clubs – Perks include getting to know an awesome community of cyclists and pedestrians making Pittsburgh’s streets safer! All volunteers can become a BikePGH member after 5 hours of service utilizing our Barter Membership Program.

Group Volunteering Opportunities

Enjoy a summer day bonding with your workplace or club : We have 3 major volunteering days available for businesses/corporations/clubs! Check out info below for how your group can get involved in our two big events, OpenStreetsPGH and PedalPGH, the last weekends of June, July, and August.

BikePGH’s volunteer opportunities are an exciting, active bonding experience for a good cause.

Volunteer Accessibility Disclosure:

  • Varied activities, including sitting, reaching, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, pushing/pulling, walking
  • Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity are needed to set up tables, chairs, tents
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
  • Most volunteer opportunities happen outdoors – be mindful and dress for the weather

How to Join the Barter Membership

Step one: Register for the Volunteer Newsletter to receive the latest details.

Step two: Receive the Volunteer Newsletter at the beginning of the month.

Step three : Sign up for the volunteer opportunity that sparks your interest!

Step four: Once you’ve volunteered for 5 hours or more, email nora@bikepgh.org to sign up for the BikePGH Barter Membership and receive all the perks that come with it!

Hotline Advocate

Crisis Center North provides free and confidential services to victims of domestic violence. Our hotline is run by trained staff and volunteers 24/7, even on holidays. Our text chat line is run daily 9am - 9pm. We provide hotline volunteers with ample training to prepare them to support and assist survivors seeking information, safety, and empowerment.

Volunteer as an Intersection Hero for OpenStreetsPGH on Sunday, July 26th in the Strip District + Lawrenceville. OpenStreetsPGH is a free community event that opens miles of city streets for people to walk, run, bike, and explore spaces that would otherwise be used by motor vehicles.
