TCR is a non-profit 501(c)(3) community development corporation, located in McKeesport, PA and currently operating solely with a volunteer Board of Directors. TCR’s mission is to take a holistic approach to community development and help rebuild its community fabric by addressing vital needs of housing, environmental stewardship, social determinants of health (SDOH), economic integration, entrepreneur development and community engagement and outreach. The VISTA volunteer will be instrumental in mobilizing community residents and helping to expand a broader-base of financial support to implement TCR’s specific goals of its low- and moderate-income neighborhood projects. The VISTA will expand stakeholder engagement model to ensure diverse voices are heard and incorporated into our planning processes by establishing regular community forums, creating accessible feedback channels, and training volunteers. By building this infrastructure, we can create sustainable mechanisms for community involvement. Specifically, the VISTA will elevate capacity to advance our Housing & Community Development program by leveraging new resources to strengthen homeownership opportunities, including developing innovative financing options.
