PCRG Program VISTA assisting to build strong systems

Pittsburgh Community Reinvestment Group (PCRG) is a community development organization fostering the revitalization of underserved neighborhoods in Pittsburgh. Since 1988 as a 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation, PCRG has become a nationally recognized leader in equitable lending and access to credit. PCRG empowers community development organizations in the region, providing resources like the VISTA program, which enhances organizational capacity and cultivates leadership. The program has been successful in advancing the careers of VISTA members, who are given opportunities for professional development throughout the year. About 70% of VISTAs have gone on to positions at community non-profits, while the other 30% have pursued higher education, often supported by the end-of-service education award. The position will build PCRG’s existing programing and delivery to community-based partners to revitalize communities to overcome poverty through the elimination of blight, creation of safe and affordable housing and fostering of community-based entrepreneurship. The VISTA will assess current effectiveness of outreach and engagement, including external communications, invites for working groups, and membership. VISTA will then develop a program plan and implement it to improve engagement & communication. Work will include updating membership database and performing an assessment survey of PCRG members. All to improve training and educational events, attendance at working groups and member engagement. Relevant skills needed include research and writing, website management and communications, including developing an organizational social media strategy. Member Duties : VISTA will assess current PCRG programs and communication systems and develop a report. 2): Then develop plan that address gaps and strengthens weakness. Including resources to increase member participation through education, challenges and best practices addressing blight & vacancy, access to capital, building wealth of LMI residents, affordable housing, and furthering equitable development. 3) Create templates and standardize systems to support the working groups Including systems for meeting member requests for further information. 4): Conduct member assessment of needs to understand what would best build their ability to participate.5): Update PCRG contract database to grow active membership. Including resources for staff and members to keep track of the vast array of programs, projects, and initiatives across the PCRG network to facilitate greater collaboration around the region.6) Develop program impact evaluation standards to highlight the performance of PCRG programs
