26-27 Three Rivers Rowing Operations & Volunteers VISTA

Three Rivers Rowing Association (TRRA) is a community-based rowing and paddling organization that develops and delivers safe, sustainable, and inclusive programs and events that teach and promote the benefits of rowing and paddling. TRRA owns and operates two campuses on the Allegheny River just north of downtown Pittsburgh. The Washington’s Landing campus is located on Washington's Landing, with the Millvale Campus & Training Center located on the adjacent river bank in the Borough of Millvale. TRRA is one of the largest community rowing organizations in the US. TRRA is embarking on a strategic plan, and over the next 12 months we will be executing phase 1 of this new plan. A key part of this process is elevating our current operational systems to provide maximum impact and efficiency for the 21st century. Our VISTA will work closely with our Executive Director and Operations Manager to elevate our current systems to increase future impact. This work will include volunteer engagement, facilities support, equipment and event coordination, and data organization. There will be opportunities for networking, creative portfolio building, and various other leadership skills development opportunities. We are looking for a dynamic person who can communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences, can work independently and as part of a team, and has an excellent work ethic, dynamic personality, and time management skills.

Member Duties : The VISTA will be part of the 2026–2027 Coach Across America national VISTA cohort of 64 members. The TRRA VISTA will have four main tasks: 1. Elevate and systematize a Volunteer Management System that meets the needs of our organization. 2. Increase volunteer participation by 10% from 2025/2026 using both hours volunteered and number of volunteers as metrics to show year-over-year growth. 3. Strategize and collaborate with the TRRA Operations Manager to identify operational challenges and create solutions. 4. Generate Standard Operating Procedure documents for volunteers and organizational operations. The VISTA must be a self-starter who can communicate with a diverse sport-based community and also be familiar with multiple communication platforms so we can increase the capacity and impact of our organization.
