25-26 Three Rivers Rowing Operations VISTA
Three Rivers Rowing Association (TRRA) is a community-based rowing and paddling organization that develops and delivers safe, sustainable, and inclusive programs and events that teach and promote the benefits of rowing and paddling to a diverse community. TRRA owns and operates two campuses on the Allegheny River just north of downtown Pittsburgh. The Washington’s Landing campus is located on Washington's Landing with the Millvale Campus & Training Center located on the adjacent river bank in the Borough of Millvale. TRRA is one of the largest community rowing organizations in the US. TRRA is advancing on a strategic planning process that began in 2024. A key part of this process is expanding our current systems of volunteer engagement and community recruiting so that we can continue to grow and remain sustainable into the future. It is also imperative that we maintain a strong presence in our local and regional communities. Our VISTA will work closely with our Executive Director to build a volunteer management system that will meet the current and future needs of our evolving organization. In addition to volunteer management, our VISTA will be responsible for creating and leading community engagement events that will raise awareness of our sports and increase participation in future programming. This work will include identifying new volunteer management systems, community network building and a strong in person presence as an ambassador of TRRA. There will be opportunities for networking, creative portfolio building and various other leadership skills development. We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic person who can communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences, can work independently and as part of a team, and has excellent writing, creativity, and time management skills.
Please note: This listing is currently not accepting applications.
Member Duties : The VISTA at TRRA will be part of the 2025-2026 Coach Across America VISTA cohort of 53 members. The TRRA VISTA will have four main tasks: 1) improve and systematize a Volunteer Management System that meets the needs of our diverse organization; 2) increase volunteer participation by 10% from 2024 using both hours volunteered and number of volunteers as metrics; 3) strengthen and expand our recruitment network for youth rowing programs; 4) generate Standard Operating Procedures documents for volunteers and recruitment events. The VISTA must be a high energy, charismatic and engaging individual that can interact positively with people of all ages. A high attention to detail and ability to work in a professional non-profit environment are essential. Rowing knowledge and experience is preferred but not required.
