Jules jams into Millvale during first solo tour

TBD
Jules Hoffman and Georgia English, executive director of You Be You, Inc., a nonprofit music school in Millvale, both attended the Berklee College of Music, where they wrote songs together and shared a mutual love of music education. While English pursued a nonprofit route in Pittsburgh, Jules got their start with Ms. Rachel , the famed YouTube star who, while delighting toddlers with her cheery educational videos, has become a vocal advocate for Palestinian children affected by the Gaza crisis and young ICE detainees . “I had responded to a Craigslist ad to be a guitar player doing music classes for about five families in the basement of a synagogue, and that happened to be with Rachel,” Jules tells Pittsburgh City Paper. “From there, we started filming our music classes, and I think during the pandemic they blew up because people wanted to have some sort of education for their kiddos while they were stuck at home — it skyrocketed from there.” Hoffman and English will reunite again on Mon., June 22, at the Millvale Community Center as part of Jules’ summer mini-tour . In 2024, Jules departed the Ms. Rachel show to pursue solo projects geared towards children ages 2 to 7. “I feel way more called to working with slightly older kids,” Jules says. Jules launched their own YouTube channel , which has garnered nearly 38 million subscribers since its launch in 2023. They also earned two Grammy nominations, one in 2024 and again in 2025, for their Raffi tribute album. Jules started writing children’s music in 2014 after their sister had kids.  “I wanted to have music for this white boy coming into the world that was going to expand his way of thinking, versus what is fed to us every day through the media,” they say. They shared that their nephew, now 11, was a very sensitive child and would cry often. One day, Jules witnessed him being scolded. They held him and validated his feelings. That evening, they went home and wrote the song
