America 250: Built in Harmony: Wood Working Day

Ends:
TBD
Learn how woodworking shaped everyday life in early America - from building furniture and tools to creating the household objects that supported a self-sufficient village. Explore the historic woodshop, watch traditional hand tools in action, and try your hand at woodworking. As part of the America 250 commemoration, this hands-on program highlights the craftsmanship, ingenuity, and the cooperation that helped build communities and strengthen the young nation. Visitors will discover how skilled trades like woodworking supported economic growth, innovation, and daily life during America's early years. Through demonstrations, interactive activities, and opportunities to speak with interpreters, guests of all ages can explore the tools, techniques, and traditions that helped shape American industry and culture.
