Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra: Manfred Honeck - Appalachian Spring

Ends:
TBD
There is perhaps no other work that so perfectly captures the hope and possibility of life in an ideal America as Appalachian Spring – a moving, emotional work that will be underscored with the inclusion of artists from Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre performing Mark Godden's Angels in the Architecture. Barber’s gorgeous Violin Concerto, Jessie Montgomery’s Strum (full of dancing rhythms and snatches of lively, folk-inflected melody), and a world premiere by Pittsburgh favorite composer Michael Daugherty round out this worth season finale.
