17+ things to do for 4th of July weekend, from fireworks to Furries and more

TBD
What’s going on in Pittsburgh this weekend, July 2-5? Find out here. Know of a cool event?  Email us . Thursday, July 2-Sunday, July 5 Anthrocon at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center Various times You know July has arrived in the Burgh when you start seeing friendly Furries roaming the streets of Downtown. There’s even more to love this summer, because one of the world’s largest furry conventions is celebrating its milestone 20th anniversary with an exploration of all things “critters, cryptids and curses.” Returning to the convention center, Anthrocon suits up to mark two decades of “fur-ever friendship” at the fandom’s permanent home. With more than 18,000 attendees expected, it’s likely going to be the largest Anthrocon ever. The highly anticipated Fursuit Parade & Block Party on July 4 is not to miss, bringing all the fun straight to the adoring public, with fan engagement along Penn Avenue between Ninth and 11th Street. Charge up that phone for Furry selfies — and no, you don’t have to wear a fursuit to attend. Information. Read more about Anthrocon in NEXT.
