Papa Zunk: Nemophila with Islander

Papa Zunk opening for Islander and Nemophila at the Crafthouse on 4th of July. Papa Zunk is a pittsburgh-based solo metal project having pioneered and refined the signature blend of Zunkmetal, layering technical guitar and bass work over electronic tracks and occasionally topping it off with powerful vocals, as is displayed in the debut full-length Zunkfest. With a steadfast refusal to conform to the corporate pop system of releasing by digital single, Papa Zunk instead opts to put a heavy focus on releasing by album and making CDs available. The entire process from writing, recording, mixing, mastering, distribution, and marketing is completely done independently. Papa Zunk has made it extremely clear that community and musical integrity will always come first in the era of catering to the corporate algorithm, even if it means never reaching stardom.
